Rêveur Woodworks was born from a simple idea: turning dreams into handcrafted reality. The word Rêveur means dreamer in French, and that spirit guides everything we create. Our shop is were vision becomes form — kitchens, built-ins, and furniture pieces that reflect both function and artistry. Rêveur Woodworks isn’t just about cabinets or tables, it’s about craftsmanship, imagination, and the joy of building something that is truly one-of-a-kind.
Our history
Rêveur Woodworks began as a hobby and what started with small builds and a love for woodworking quickly grew into something more. A business dedicated to creating custom cabinetry and furniture that clients can’t find anywhere in a big box store, but at a price you can afford.
Over time, we’ve honed our process — from selecting premium materials to shaping, sanding, and finishing every detail by hand. Each project is a blend of tradition and vision, rooted in craftsmanship that stands the test of time.
Though young in years, Rêveur Woodworks is built on strong foundations: hard work, creativity, and the belief that even the smallest dream can become something lasting when shaped with care.
Our founder
Roland L. Derouen III, commonly known as "Trey", is the founder and craftsman behind Rêveur Woodworks. Trey is a Lafayette native and married to his beautiful wife whom share two beautiful children together with their third baby on the way. By trade, he is a Petroleum Engineer and has been serving the oil and gas industry since graduating from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2019. Trey has always had a love for carpentry since a young age which formed while helping his Grandfather craft many pieces in his shop. While achieving a very successful career as an Engineer, Trey is a woodworker and builder at heart.
The name choice, Rêveur, is a reflection of his belief that great craftsmanship begins with imagination. Every project is a chance to bring someone’s dream to life, whether it’s a custom kitchen or a statement piece of furniture that exists nowhere else.
Driven by precision, creativity, and a lifelong love of building, Trey Derouen founded Rêveur Woodworks to share that passion with others — creating pieces that are as functional as they are timeless.
